House of WOW, (formerly known as WOW), the iconic restaurant venue and events space in Ibiza, has relaunched for 2023 and has been heralded already by the media as one of the hottest new places to eat on the island this season. Located just outside Santa Gertrudis, House of WOW is a true hidden gem where Islanders can enjoy amazing cocktails and delicious food at reasonable prices, in a super-stylish setting.
For 2023 the kitchen headed is up by Ibizencan Chef Cristina Duenas Gledson (formerly Hostel La Torre, Portofina, The Giri café, Atzaro, Boulder & Co and Pied a Terre London among others). Guests will be able to enjoy a delicious menu with the freshest flavours and a Balearic twist, created from seasonal, local and natural ingredients, complimented by local wines and delicious bespoke cocktails, all at great price points. The cocktail menu includes the classics, but also some unique mixology additions for summer 2023 such as the rum-based Jungle Bird, the Dope Slap (made from Pisco, banana liquor, Whisky, Tequila and orange bitters) or try a mescal-based Watermelon Cooler.
Chef Cristina says ‘Just like our cocktail menu is filled with the classics (such as Mojitos and Margaritas) we also set out with our dinner menu to create dishes that would evoke emotions and bring back memories of family meals of the past, like our classic shrimp cocktail with Marie Rose sauce does. I’m Ibicencan and love using local products as much as possible. I truly think there is nothing richer than a dish where you can distinguish each flavour. Excellence is found in simplicity!
With a refreshingly relaxed philosophy of no minimum spend and an intimate home from home atmosphere, the restaurant is fast becoming a favourite for an al fresco dinner in the tropical garden (with an events table for up to 26 people) or to be enjoyed in the airy, plant filled and super stylish covered terrace, which is decorated with rich colours, vintage furnishings, and low-key lighting.
Browse the menu for a few sharing plates with friends such as the delicious Beef Picaña a plate of Queen Scallops or the House of Wow salad which is bursting with deconstructed flavours. There is plenty for vegetarians on the menu including the sublime Bloody Mary Gazpacho and the warm eggplant salad with pomegranates and tahini. Seafood lovers will love the local Ibicenco Squid with confit garlic sauce and basil oil, or for something more substantial try the mouth-watering Ruby Gallega Sirloin Beef with Café de Paris sauce and potatoes parmentiers.
For a satisfying after-work bite to eat, (perfect paired with an ice cold beer), grab a delicious Smash burger made with aged cheddar, bacon and a secret sauce or perhaps a Vegan or a Summer pizzetta made with truffles and spinach. Sweet treats include a tangy Lemon Meringue Pie or an indulgent Flaming Alaska designed for sharing between 3-4 people.
Also new this year at House of WOW is an indoor venue space for cultural events. There will be a series of exciting workshops, talks and one-off unique happenings for visitors to attend from the worlds of film, music, art, sex, photography, fashion, psychedelics, wellbeing and literature. Watch this space for information.
In addition to the new restaurant, the venue also boasts a state-of-the-art sound system and a lineup of international DJs throughout the season. Playing good times soulful sounds, House of WOW promises to be the ultimate chill-out destination in Ibiza.
The restaurant and garden is perfect for large parties and late night dinners and can host up to 250. House of WOW will be open 11 months a year, in summer season six days a week, from 7pm to with a late-night kitchen open until 1.30am and a clubhouse space open until 3am.
