Since the 1950s, Cadaquès, a beautiful, isolated fishing village, has been an important cultural meeting point, where artists such as Marcel Duchamp, Man Ray, Picasso, among others, were attracted by the beautiful light and the astonishing landscapes, as well as by the enigmatic figure of Salvador Dalí, with his legendary studio in the nearby Port Lligat.
Built in 1962 by a famous American architect, Villa Cadaquès combines modernity and simplicity with a high-level of luxury and comfort. Uniquely designed – the interiors are super stylish, with 1950s Californian and Catalan influences – think large rooms with sweeping views and contemporary designer furnishings. With its cubist lines, Villa Cadaquès is a source of inspiration for a whole generation of Spanish architects.
The property has 10 generous bedrooms all with ensuite bathrooms. A spectacular infinity pool, with its own pool-house and summer kitchen affords wonderful summer living and there is direct access to the sea. All bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms -with bath or shower rooms.
The generous sized salon includes a library, a fireplace for cosy winters, a music area with piano, harp and guitar and a separate office – perfect for home working. A fully equipped kitchen includes an oven, fridge, 2 dishwashers, wine cellar and barbecue. There are three dining areas each seating up to 12.
Additional amenities include heated pool with protective barriers, pool house with shower room, outdoor kitchen, audio system, laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer as well as wifi. There is plenty to keep even the most active guest happy at Villa Cadaquès – with boating, kayaking, scuba diving, golf and hiking right on the doorstep amongst spectacular scenery.
For culture lovers, Villa Cadaquès is just a 5-minute walk from the Salvador Dali House Museum and the centre of Cadaquès is a 20 minute walk away. The host can also organise wonderful local experiences such as walking and cooking.
