The home of gastronomy in the Balearics with Mallorca’s only 2 Michelin Star restaurant Voro, from world-famous chef Alvaro Salazar
Cap Vermell Grand Hotel is a five-star luxury country resort with world-class cuisine and incredible spa and wellness facilities, located in the Canyamel Valley in the exclusive northeast of Mallorca.
One of the Leading Hotels of the World, Cap Vermell Grand Hotel oozes understated luxury. Set on a hilltop, amidst the rugged natural beauty of the island, just half a mile from Playa de Canyamel and a ten-minute drive from the picturesque, historic town of Artà, Cap Vermell has been sensitively designed by international architectural firm DSA Architects as a traditional Mallorcan hilltop village, with 142 terracotta-hued luxury suites and villas surrounded by verdant gardens, fruit trees, rivers and lakes.
Gastronomy is at the heart of Cap Vermell Grand Hotel. The hotel has several exemplary restaurants, including the world-famous Voro, the only 2 Michelin-star restaurant in Balearic Islands, headed by one of Spain’s most celebrated chefs, Alvaro Salazar. In addition, spectacular haute cuisine Japanese restaurant Roka has opened for the fourth year as a pop-up (until September 8th), bringing its award-winning Japanese robatayaki concept and its unique approach to modern Japanese cuisine to the island. The restaurant has just celebrated its opening with a glittering party attended by a whole host of VIP guests from the world of music and sport, including legendary footballers past and present including Gabriel Batistuta, Julio Salinas and Mauro Tassotti and model and actress Liz Emiliano.
Also, new for 2024, The Crossing comes to Cap Vermell for the first time, opening on August 14th and offering a journey through the ancestral flavours and innovation of Michelin-starred chef Jitin Joshi’s native Indian cuisine.
Cap Vermell Grand Hotel CEO Toni Mir says, “A few weeks ago, The Michelin Guide introduced the Michelin Keys in Spain, a new distinction recognising the world’s most outstanding hotels. We’re thrilled to announce that Cap Vermell Grand Hotel has received one of these prestigious keys, adding to other honours such as the UNESCO World Prize for Architecture and Design (Prix Versailles) and the ‘1st Grand Hotel Champion – 2024 Certificate’ by Serandipians by Traveller Made. This global recognition inspires us to keep innovating and delivering service that goes above and beyond.
Voro
Launching in 2019, Voro is more than just a culinary destination; it’s a sensory journey that goes beyond conventional borders and horizons, always keeping its gaze on the rich heritage of Mediterranean cuisine. There are two constantly evolving 18 or 22-dish tasting menus on offer, plus a wine list with 400 national and international fine wines.
Roka Mallorca
The heart of Roka’s menu is the robata grill, a traditional Japanese method of cooking over charcoal. The kankoku fu kohitsuji Korean-spiced lamb chops and cucumber with sesame, and the unsalted kampachi sashimi, yellowtail sashimi with yuzu and truffle design, are some of the dishes on the menu, while signature cocktails, such as the ichigo kub, a mix of gin, strawberry mirin, Aperol, absinthe and lime.
The Crossing
Already awarded a Michelin star at Benares and Gymkhana, two renowned Indian gourmet restaurants in London, Jitin Joshi has chosen Cap Vermell as the location for a two-month summer pop-up for his Indian fine dining restaurant, The Crossing. The menu at The Crossing is immersed in the nostalgia of secret Indian family recipes, celebrating the diversity of Indian cuisine, showcasing a more offbeat side of food from the Rajput kitchens, hidden gems from northeast India, and simple yet robust recipes from India’s coastline.
In addition to these world-class restaurants, Cap Vermell Grand Hotel is home to several other restaurants including Balearic, a relaxed sea view restaurant celebrating the culinary richness of the Mediterranean, with local ingredients and authentic flavours prepared with fresh season ingredients from neighbouring farms and fishing ports, Tapas Bar – a cozy and stylish Spanish tapas/wine bar in the heart of the Cap Vermell resort, and Ses Oliveres, which takes you on a gastronomic journey through Mallorca. Using local and nearby products, this terrace restaurant overlooking the pool and the Canyamel Valley combines local cuisine with Mediterranean gastronomy.
