Located in the historic centre of Mahón and renowned for its iconic salmon-coloured facade, the Can Alberti 1740 Boutique Hotel will open its doors for the 2024 season on 11th March. The hotel offers 14 luxurious rooms along with stylish and cosy common spaces, plus a patio and large terrace overlooking the port to admire the stunning sunsets and take in the views.
The Hotel, located in what was the Alberti family residence, is a hub for history and culture on the island and has garnered an international reputation for hosting groundbreaking arts events. The hotel is excited to announce a whole calendar of cultural events for the 2024 season, that will once again put it at the heart of a cultural scene that has been exploding across Menorca in recent years.
On Saturday 13th April, in celebration of the International Day of Art (15th April), there will be a charity show combining music and painting called “ESCUCHANDO LOS COLORES | TAMAYURA” (LISTENING TO COLOURS | TAMAYURA). In addition, a permanent exhibition of exclusive pieces by the Menorcan-based ceramist Blanca Madruga will be on show.
On 25th, 26th and 27th April there will be an exhibition and auction open to the public of paintings donated by CaixaBank’s pictorial collection, with the proceeds going to ASINPROS, Menorca’s Island Association for the Care of People with Disabilities, “Fundació Discap | CarlosMir”. In May (date to be announced shortly), a new solidarity concert, with world-renowned musicians, will be held by Can Alberti Boutique Hotel.
From 28 June to 8 July Can Alberti 1740 Boutique Hotel will have its first exhibition of the year, as part of a new partnership with Casa de Velázquez. The exhibition will feature artworks from internationally renowned Spanish photographer Isabel Muñoz, whose works are on show in galleries worldwide, including the Museum of Contemporary Art in New York. Exhibiting alongside her are two of Casa de Velázquez’s resident artists, Nicolás Combarro and Regina Quesada. A conference on Casa de Velazquez will be held on June 28th at the hotel to explain the origins and goals of this French Institution, founded in 1920 in Madrid. The institution aims to promote artistic, cultural and academic exchanges on a bilateral and international scale.
From 11th July to 2nd August Can Alberti 1740 Boutique Hotel will be collaborating with Antwerp’s famous IBASHO gallery in Belgium on an exciting exhibition of photography and art by artists Albarrán Cabrera, Casper Faassen, Mika Horie and Paul Cupido.
On 18th October, as part of a new collaboration with the Fundació Pau Casals of Es Vendrell, Can Alberti 1740 Boutique Hotel will hold a conference about “Pau Casals, a living legacy”, at the social and cultural Ateneo of Menorca in memory of one of the most outstanding Spanish musicians of the 20th century.
