Work From Anywhere Retreats launched for Winter 2022
theHUB Ibiza is at the forefront of purpose-built co-working communities for international remote workers and location independent entrepreneurs seeking the perfect work-life and environmental balance while doing business.
As the island’s number one remote working base, theHUB offers well thought-out facilities for individual hot-desking in bright and airy open spaces, with small booths and quiet zones available for private calls and online meetings.
Office suites are also available for those wanting a dedicated private working space, potentially accommodating a remote team or the needs of a small, lean company looking to grow on the move.
The growing membership reflects these changing work patterns, with an international community working remotely for global brands such as Google, YouTube, Spotify alongside entrepreneurs from the tech, digital and creative industries, and is the home of the Pioneer DJ headquarters in Ibiza.
At a time when the Spanish Government is preparing to launch its Digital Nomad Visa, theHUB is uniquely poised to meet the increased membership demand.
New this Winter, theHUB launches Work from Anywhere Retreats for companies to bring their teams to work from a new and inspiring environment. Retreats are designed to encourage team building and enhance company culture.
Teams of 5+ businesses can bring teams over for bespoke five-day retreats with dedicated workspaces, seminars and accommodation. They can also arrange outdoor activities including kayaking, hiking and paddleboarding.
Flying the flag for Ibiza remote working, “Why work from anywhere, when you can work from Ibiza” is the tagline driving the new retreat product, which offers a unique opportunity for theHUB to establish sustainable tourism for the island.
Members can book and access leading-edge facilities to support a variety of business needs, including an event space, music studio and podcast studio, while the communal spaces offer fitness areas, a healthy eating café and tropical garden areas with comfortable chairs and tables to chill or take a screen break.
Remote workers with a keen interest in reducing their environmental impact will be right at home at The Hub, which is the only sustainable workspace in Ibiza. Energy comes from solar panels and there is a no plastic rule and filtered drinking water.
Through a partnership with Hub member Ibiza Preservation, the environmental body of the island, community members are encouraged to be green and travel in a sustainable way.
Hub Co-Founder Sam Dean explains: “The growing trend for remote working is creating a demand for much better and well thought through facilities and theHUB is leading the way in this provision.
“Our members are sophisticated users of spaces designed for working on the move and they want spaces to match up to their downtime needs as much as their business needs to provide a good work-life balance. Positive environmental practice is also important, and that is why we have placed this at the heart of what we do.”
He added: “Most creative minds are not meeting on the dancefloor anymore, they are meeting at theHUB, because what we have created is both special and unique.”
Where to find us: theHUB is centrally located just outside Santa Gertrudis in the heart of the island, just ten minutes from Ibiza town.
The Hub Community
Hub membership has been created to provide a perfectly balanced work life that will enhance business productivity. Fitness and wellness programmes are available daily at fitnessHUB ranging from Pilates to yoga, meditation to dynamic gym sessions.
There is a ‘Zen Den’ available for rest and reflection, and plenty of space to relax and unwind, supporting theHub’s suggested four-hour working periods for its members, who are encouraged to take regular screen breaks.
Healthy and affordable food choices are available from Eat is Life, a sustainable food provider conceived to promote a lifestyle based on a nutritious diet with a delicious range of salads and juices made from locally sourced produce.
Community: The Heart of The Hub Ethos
The space supports the biggest community of year-round members, as well as offering day and month passes to temporary visitors to the island. Working at theHUB is all about connections and interaction with other members. Outside of the summer months, a genuine community of Ibiza residents come together and make contacts and friends, sharing advice and knowledge via regular networking coffee mornings, members drinks, open air cinema, music events and family days – plus a shared WhatsApp group, which is always buzzing with help and advice for those wanting it.
The Hub Ibiza Studios
The Hub Ibiza Studios was launched in 2021 by DJ Sacha, an island resident and international artist, along with music industry professional and manager Nathan Thirsting, from Mensch Music Management (Groove Armada, The 2 Bears), HUB Co-Founder, DJ and producer Kellie Allen, and Mick Wilson, International Editor of DJ Mag.
Idris Elba, Skepta, Plan B, Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike and Danny Howard are just some of the names who have used the studios facilities. As well as providing top level music production facilities for DJs and musicians, the studio provides an educational facility in electronic and live music plus music lessons for children living on the island, the idea being that profits from the studio can subsidise music education.
Sustainable Tourism
The Hub is an advocate for year-round sustainable tourism on the Island. Ibiza has a short six-month tourism season and the industry all but shuts down in Winter, resulting in job losses for seasonal workers and disproportionately high rental costs for ordinary workers in the summer. Encouraging entrepreneurs and other remote workers to work from Ibiza year-round would help communities economically and dilute the intense summer pressure on the environment (running water, plastic use, cost of living).
theHub is soon to launch yourHUB, a new initiative offering support to Island businesses open in Winter, connecting them directly to Hub members. Another step of progression to securing their sustainable ambitions for the future of Ibiza.
