Founder Monty Gammond explains: “The idea for Bask + Groove was born during my travels to yoga retreats in India. I struggled to find a unisex hat with a brim that truly offered sun protection, while still feeling stylish and versatile. From the beginning, I wanted to create soulful pieces for women and men that live with you – hats that travel, age, and evolve with your life rather than sit in a seasonal wardrobe. In terms of production, I was drawn to Ecuador’s weaving communities and their extraordinary craftsmanship. This tradition represents a slower, more intentional way of making – where sustainability and heritage are inseparable.”

Bask + Groove was founded by Ibiza resident Monty Gammond in 2023, inspired by a lifelong love of music and a belief in timeless design over passing trends. Alongside the brand, Monty has spent more than a decade running leading club nights and music artist led events since 2013 at large scale touring venues nationwide. He founded ‘Boogaloo’ as a niche club university student night that cult following with students of timeless music.
